Il modello Youtube è molto importante per il mercato italiano ma sono ancora in pochi a crederci veramente. Uno scetticismo decisamente mal riposto. Il numero di “views” sul web infatti cresce in modo esponenziale anche in Italia (e non solo nel resto del mondo). A marzo gli youtuber nostrani avevano già caricato più di tre milioni e mezzo di video (erano meno di un milione subito dopo Natale). La media iscritti di un canale top di YouTube, dal 2015 a oggi, è più che raddoppiata: prima si andava in testa con un milione scarso, adesso ne servono dai 2 ai 3 milioni. Il numero delle views è arrivato complessivamente, solo nel nostro paese, alla cifra record di 79 miliardi (elaborazioni GreaterFool.tv, basate su un campione di 12.500 canali YouTube italiani con più di 1.000 subscriber). Sono numeri che fanno impallidire gli ascolti di Sanremo e che creano qualche disagio anche alle tv in abbonamento come Sky.
